With Spring and Summer time just around the corner the 2012 Board of Directors have been going through procedures and policies to clarify and update for GACC members.  After researching By-Laws and minutes of past board meetings and much discussion we wanted to remind everyone of the Guest procedure for members and fees.

   The membership policy of Green Acres is that Single membership members are entitled to bring A guest with them for no charge.  Any additional guests are subject to the $7 per day visit fee.  Family membership members must pay the $7 per guest per day visit.  At no time is a guest allowed on the GACC Facility without a GACC member.  Guest are allowed 5 visits a year before they must either join as an Associate Member (no stock ownership or voting rights) or as a Stock Member (voting rights).  There are NO Designated Guest of the club.  This is not addressed in the By Laws and we could not locate board minutes addressing this issue.

    Effective February 2011 the $7 fee was enacted by the 2011 Board unanimously by vote at the December 2010 Board meeting.  This fee was revisited at the 2012 February Board Meeting and it was discussed and approved that it was a reasonable guest fee in lieu of raising dues to members.  Many clubs around the area have higher dues than GACC and it was approved unanimously by the Board that it was more important to keep annual dues lower and increase the guest fee by $2.   While Bissonet and Lakeside both have a $5 guest fee policy, the annual dues are currently $720 and $760 respectfully.  GACC has been at $652 for a number of years.  We feel it is a fair trade off to keep the dues significantly lower for our members, rather than increase dues to comparable levels and keep a $5 guest fee.
