Swimming & Recreational Facility in Metairie
Green Acres Country Club was founded in 1957 by a group of local citizens who recognized the need for a swimming and recreational facility in the area. The club, now entering its sixth decade of operation, is unique in that it was conceived, financed, and built entirely by its members.
Constantly Improving Amenities
The original physical plant consisted of pools and a bathhouse. Over the years, many improvements have been made, including the clubhouse, pool cabana, and tennis courts. The grounds are shaded by many mature trees with landscaping, decks, picnic areas, a fitness room, play areas, and equipment for the children.
Leagues & Competitions
Green Acres is very active in the Jefferson Community Club Association, which sponsors swim and dive competitions for juniors and tennis leagues for juniors and adults.
